Last Thursday, a Federal District Judge, Myong Joun, blocked Trump’s Executive Order downsizing the staff at the Federal Department of Education (DOE). According to the DOE, they will appeal this ruling.
The Florida Citizens Alliance stands by President Trump and Commissioner McMahon’s actions taken so far in reducing the size of the DOE, and we support the idea of complete elimination of the DOE. However, as we have seen by this ruling, both judges and interested parties do not want the DOE to shut down. This is why it is more important than ever to fight at the state level to make necessary reforms and promote parental choice. We believe families are the foundation of society, and parental rights should be protected at all costs, including the right to educate their children as they see fit.
