TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Florida Citizens Alliance is closing out the year by thanking its supporters for making possible a series of major victories that protected children, empowered families, and expanded access to high quality, faith based education options across the state.
As a nonprofit organization, Florida Citizens Alliance operates entirely through donations from individuals who believe in putting students and parents first. This year’s achievements were made possible because of those contributions.
“Every success we have had this year belongs to the families, grandparents, and supporters who invest in our mission,” said Pastor Rick Stevens, Co Founder and Director of Florida Citizens Alliance. “Their generosity allows us to defend parental rights, safeguard children, and bring forward real solutions that strengthen education across Florida. None of this would be possible without them.”
Florida Citizens Alliance continued its work across three core pillars. These pillars include expanding microschool solutions, elevating community involvement, and advancing meaningful policy reforms through legislative advocacy. Each initiative delivered measurable accomplishments that strengthened parental rights and improved student learning statewide.
Launched in 2023, the organization’s Microschool Initiative Program now serves more than five hundred students across more than twenty microschools. The program’s team of nine industry trained education consultants supports families in forty three counties by helping them build and strengthen personalized learning environments.
Through policy leadership and legislative engagement, Florida Citizens Alliance helped drive significant systematic change throughout 2025. The organization secured five legislative victories and successfully defeated two harmful bills that threatened parental rights and student protections. The advocacy team held more than fifty meetings with state lawmakers and collaborated with more than twenty Kids First Teams across Florida. These local teams educate families about policies that have a direct impact on their children’s education and well being.
“Every meeting, every policy win, and every child we help protect is a direct result of our donors standing with us,” said Keith Flaugh, Co Founder and Director of Florida Citizens Alliance. “Their support fuels a movement that continues to grow stronger in every corner of the state.”
Additional accomplishments include continued success in advancing legislation supported by the organization. Most Florida Citizens Alliance supported bills were signed into law during the 2023 and 2024 sessions. No strongly opposed bills have been passed in the last six years. The organization also worked with the Florida Department of Education to develop improved language and standards during the rulemaking process. Florida Citizens Alliance is considered a trusted leader among grassroots organizations, lawmakers, and state education officials.
This year also marked significant progress in the organization’s ongoing effort to protect students from the risks associated with artificial intelligence. Florida Citizens Alliance led statewide conversations, advanced legislative action, and hosted educational symposiums to equip parents and grandparents with the tools and knowledge needed to safeguard children in an evolving digital landscape.
Florida Citizens Alliance credits every advancement to the generosity of its supporters. Their commitment allows the organization to remain a strong voice for families and to build an education environment where Florida’s students can thrive.
