Supreme Court Upholds Position Taken By Florida Citizens Alliance

by | Jun 30, 2025

This past week, the United States Supreme Court ruled on three cases regarding protecting children from harm. These three decisions align with the positions we have taken over the years on abortion, parental rights, and obscene content.

The first Supreme Court decision allows South Carolina to block state Medicaid dollars from being used at Planned Parenthood facilities. This is a major win for protecting children from harm.

The second Supreme Court decision also protected children from harm by upholding a Texas law that required age verification to view sexually obscene content online. This content has been linked to mental health problems. We supported a similar law that passed in Florida and was signed into law in 2024.

The last Supreme Court victory came from a case that protected parental rights to opt their children out of curriculum that conflicted with their religious beliefs. Florida has passed laws that protect parental rights such as this.
